Senators win 2011 Boise MSBL 35+ Division Championship!!

The Senators outlasted the Pirates 13-12 in wacky extra innings game that saw a combined 30 hits, 2 HR's, 18 K's, 14 BB and 9 HBP!  The game also had 11 errors...very uncharacteristic of both teams!

The Senators scored 6 runs in the bottom of the first inning. The Pirates responded with 6 runs of thier own in the top of the second inning.  The Senators scored two in their half of the third and three more in the bottom of the fourth to take a commanding 11-6 lead.  But the Pirates made it interesting by scoring two in the top of the seventh to make it 11-8. That was all of the scoring the Pirates could muster until the top of the ninth when things got interesting.

The Senators were leading 11-8 going into the top of the ninth inning when Pirate Terry Letourneau hit a Grand Slam HR to put the Pirates up 12-11.  All the Pirates had to do was get three outs to take home their second consecutive Championship!  It wasnt to be however as the Senators plated a run on an error in the bottom of the ninth to tie the game at 12.

The Pirates couldnt produce a run in the top of the tenth inning and that set the table for the Senators half of the tenth. With the score knotted at 12 Senators Mark Haggerty led off with a ground out, Joe Widmer was hit by pitch, Jason Stoppello flied out, Cliff Lewis drew a walk and Chris Velasquez was intentionally walked to load the bases to create a force at any base.  With two outs and bases loaded Steve Elliott drew a walk to force in the winning run.  Senators win 13-12.

Congrats to the Senators !  They are your 2011 Champions !!
